Payton's Updates

So Payton went to her first Neurology apt in April. They were so pleased with her and could not believe how well she is doing. They were so happy with her that they don't want to see her back for 9 months to just make sure everything keeps progresses like it should. Then on June 1st we went to the Neonatal Follow Program. The Dr. that saw her remembered from the when she was on the cooling pad right after birth. She was so pleased and happy and socked that she almost cried. She couldn't believe how much she was doing. Then on June 3rd she had to go to her 6 month check up with Dr. Nassim. She told me she is just so glad how well she looks and everything. She even said after seeing her the day she was born that she thought to herself this one day that isn't going to get better. Now she is so surprised at her progress. All the Dr.s have told me they can't believe her outcome. No one thought she would do this well. Her arm is getting stronger. If you didn't know she had a problem you wouldn't even notice. She got a X-Ray of her diaphragm is and it a little higher then the other. Which means that it has pretty much fixed itself all the way. There is no reason to even worry about it. She isn't going to have any long term effects over it.




This was Payton a little after she was born and right after the Baby Buggy from Kosair got to Floyd.
This was the first time I met Payton. This was the hardest thing I have ever had to see in my life. No one should ever have to go through this. I thought I knew what I was going to see but no one could have prepared me for it. Eric explained what I was going to see so I thought I was going to understand but boy was I wrong. To your baby laying there and there is nothing in the world you can do but sit there and talk to her and hope and pray she is going to be ok. I didn't sleep until she came home. I wanted to spend every sec with her but knew I had Madelyn to take care of. I felt like this was all my fault and a horrible mother. That might be in part to The Dr. that delivered. As soon as she came out the Dr. had the nerve to come up to me and say that this was all my fault. Those are some harsh words to say after someone just went through all they did.


This was the first time she had her eye's open. I want to think it was because she knew that her mommy was there. She was sedated so she didn't really know what was going on. I still can't believe that we had to go through all of this. I know we aren't the only people who go through this but you never think that your going to have to see your baby like this.



Here is Payton today!! She is all healthy and happy little girl. She loves to pick on her sister by grabbing her face and pulling her hair!! She is too funny. We are so lucky!! She is such a great baby and her big sister, Madelyn loves her so much!! I can't wait til they start playing together!!

So after all we have been through we have decided that we ARE NOT going to have anymore kids. For one we both want a boy and figured we will get another girl!! I really don't know if I can handle 3 little mes running around!! Its going to be bad enough with 2, and I think we are both pretty scared from what happened to Payton and don't want to take the chance of going through anything like that again!

So I finally figured that Madelyn's hair was long enough to put the front up. So now I try to do this all the time. Well she doesn't like it so much. It usually only last for a few minutes. Oh well I try all the time. I think its too cute!!

So now Payton has been on baby food for about 2 months now. Well she has learned how to blow raspberries while eating. So it makes a huge mess and not just on the high chair but all over me!!

Girls Will Be Girls!!

Madelyn loves to have Payton sitting beside her so they can play. Sometimes Payton likes it and sometimes she doesn't. This day Payton had a good time!!

Baby Shower

Over the weekend the girls, my mom and I headed up to Northern IN for Stefany's baby shower. It was about a 5 hr drive there. We drove back in the same day. Madelyn and Payton did so good for being in the car that long. Stefany's shower was at her aunt's house and that house was so nice. I didn't get many pictures because I was chasing Madelyn around. I didn't want her to break anything. I did get a few though. I told Madelyn that Stefany has a baby in the belly so now she goes around asking if everyone has a baby in the belly. It pretty funny. She even asks Eric if he has one!!! She is too cute!!
